Jamia sets date for student union poll, revokes disciplinary action against protesters
Jamia Millia Islamia has set May 15, 2027, as the deadline for approving and implementing its students’ union constitution and decided to revoke disciplinary action against protesting students. The university has also decided to hold students’ union elections within six weeks of the commencement of the next academic session, addressing three key demands raised by students during their 18-day protest seeking the restoration of the elected union, which has remained defunct since 2006.
