Buying liquor in Tamil Nadu? Tasmac to restrict cash payments above Rs 500 from January; PoS machines at all outlets

Starting November 1, Tasmac will mandate digital payment methods for liquor transactions exceeding Rs 1,000. This new rule is designed to streamline cash operations and improve pricing accuracy. Additionally, all outlets will need operational PoS machines to record each purchase with a bill, boosting financial transparency. Customers are also urged to use the online advance-booking option for liquor payments to facilitate smoother transactions.
