No GPS, no permits: Tamil Nadu bars mineral transport vehicles without tracking devices from Nov 1

No vehicles will be allowed to transport minerals without GPS devices installed by November 1. The devices must be integrated with the state's MiMAS portal for real-time location tracking. Currently, around 1.10 lakh vehicles are registered, but only 50,000 actively transport minerals. Lorry owners must purchase devices from approved vendors, with costs now around ₹4000. Failure to comply will result in legal action against lorry owners.
